Our Aim/Mission/vision

The primary objective of the organisation is environmental conservation in a judicious manner and to mitigate the adverse impact of climate change.

However, contrary to popular perception, PUPA believes that environment and development(economic) are not in conflict. So PUPA sets the Vision of ‘Environment for Development ‘ and strives to achieve the same through its Mission of ‘Environmental Conservation ‘. In order to blend environment and development, PUPA promotes cultivation of traditional varieties of paddy suited to the local climate and encourages organic farming. In the pursuit of its motto of ‘environmental conservation‘ , PUPA runs environmental awareness programmes in schools across the state of West Bengal and also runs a model pre-primary school focused on ‘learning from nature’ under its affiliate ‘Krishna-Suchitra Memorial Centre for Rural development & Research'

Vision

PUPA’s vision is to restore the sanctity of Environment by systematically removing the major impacts on environment resulted due to need (Poverty) and greed (quick benefits) of the populace by environmentally literate community through their need-based capacity building. Further, it's vision is to develop replicable Model Village (AMAR GRAM), with people’s participation, along with its Management Plan, which promote sustainable, eco-friendly and equitable socio-economic development of rural people primarily through local resource management

Mission

The primary mission of PUPA is to improve the quality of life and livelihood of the communities in rural and urban areas through education, training, research and consultancy so as to establish self-sustained, self-maintained and continuous with dynamic growth with a goal of equitable distribution & environmental conservation

Aim

PUPA’s aim is to develop replicable Model Villages (AMARGRAM), with people’s participation by promoting sustainable, eco-friendly and equitable socio-economic development of rural people primarily through local resource management and by raising the sense of belongingness (ownership) among the villagers towards their own village (resources), and also by demonstrating the usefulness of equitable sharing of the benefits.

Objective
